My car has developed a warm starting problem where the only way to get the engine to fire is by turning it over at full throttle. It also randomly suffers from a hunting idle when the engine is upto full operating temp. ive had it hooked upto vagcom and its not reporting any fault codes but its showing an idle speed of around 700rpm which i think seems on the low side. my question is will cleaning the throttle sensor help to cure this and how do i go about cleaning the throttle sensor? (location, how to get to it, what to clean it with etc.)

I jave a TDi so have no experience on how to clean the throttle body. Hopefull one of the petrol guys will help out on this. Once completed you may also need VagCom to do the alignment procedure - http://wiki.ross-tech.com/index.php/Throttle_Body_Alignment_(TBA)
