I am new to this great forum as I have just bought an A2 1.2 TDI. It runs great and is amazingly economical.. It does have a problem with the climate control however..
The fan seems to have taken a life of its own.. It just goes up and down in speed complete randomly and with no relation to temp, auto, econ, engine temp or other functions. It often goes up to full speed for a bit, then slows down, goes up to full speed again, turns off and then starts all over.. But most of the time when it is on, it will go to full speed which is both nosy and annoying. It doesn't matter if I turn the fan speed down manually, it still does its own thing regardless.
Everything else seems to work fine and it will hold the preset temperature. Its just the fan that goes nuts and cycles up and down on its own, sometimes only a few seconds at each speed, but mostly up to full speed as mentioned.. Has anyone else experienced this.?
Is it most likely the control panel itself, or are there other sensors that controls the fan speed.?
Thanks - Alex.
