Climate control problem

Had the A2 climate control looked at as it will start off cold and then get warmer over the next 10 mins or so or it will start off warm and not cool down!

A code scan has shown that the motor controlling the flap to adjust the amount of warm air coming through has an issue.

The quote to fix it was up to 4 hrs labour and the part is £68 + VAT.

Can this be fixed easily by DIY or is it a garage jobby with code reset?

Or is there a way around this?

I had a similar problem when i got my a2, the climate control system is very complex and mostly buried behind the dash or in the depths of the engine, if it is four hours work for a trained mechanic i am sure it will be quite complex for anyone else. I would wait and see if anyone on the forum has had the same problem as they may be able to advise you better

Hi Simon
There are 4 flap position motors (V68,V70,V107 & V113) Most are not accessible without removing the dash but there is a way of cycling the flaps which sometimes gets them working again. More info on this thread - http://www.a2oc.net/forum/showthread.php?t=8816&highlight=flap+position+motor

you'll need to register to see the pics, but the three hours is including capping the climate pipes, which you don't need to do.
