Comprehensive A2 specialist locations

Hello all,

I'm in Oxfordshire and had my last A2 checked over by A2Cars (Tony) in Milton Keynes. May he rest in peace.

I had a bit of a search around the forums but cant find a sticky or thread with locations of A2 Specialists.

I'm hoping to pull the trigger on a Fizzy this weekend and due to time and family constraints would like to have it checked over by a specialist local to me if possible?

1) Is there a list of recommended garages?
2) Do we know of anything local to Oxfordshire?

Thanks all

There aren't many A2 specialists at all. The best place to go for any A2 work is WOM Automotive in Lower Tean, Staffordshire. B&F Autos in Hounslow also know their A2's in general, but I don't know how many FSI's they see. Other people may have recommendations for VAG specialists.

Speaking personally, you, could do a lot worse than B&F in West Hounslow. They actually do a full report on a vehicle which is hugely worthwhile. If your seller doesn't want that done, well there's your answer.

Another vote for B & F in Hounslow. They did my wishbones for me recently as I had my drive blocked by a camper conversion of my mates. They do see a few A2's regularly still too.

+1 for B&F Autos who I entrusted with work on my previous A2. They know A2s and very good to deal with.

I was over at B&F autos yesterday getting 2 of my other cars serviced and talking about my FSi. Evidently Gary is as familiar with FSI’s as any other A2 so @james.mckenzie sounds like he’d be the guy to take yours to. FWIW he didn’t see them as a scary ownership proposition necessarily.

I was asking him about the pre-purchase inspections they do, they’re very reasonably priced and they’re prepared to travel quite some distance (if you’re prepared to pay the mileage premium) to look at a car, they’ve apparently been as far as Essex before.

Speaking as a fellow member of the B&F fan club, wouldn't really want to go anywhere else. The exception being a few far flung members of the A2 fraternity........... hoping your recovery proceeds apace Tom. And others.

Thank you, Simon. Progress is steady but frustratingly slow.

As someone whose services are comparatively niche and don’t necessarily align with most people’s definition of “garage”, I wasn’t sure whether I qualified for this list, but I’ll throw my hat into the ring anyway…

All the best,

Tom
