Hi,

The pad-wear light came on today so its that time to think about looking at what is the current best setup.

The current discs and pads are Mintex and they have been on the car for close to 6 years. Looking at prices today Mintex again are coming out the best value for money, followed by Bosch, Pagid, ATE, Brembo, and then the holy grail of Green Stuff, at 3 times the cost.

Are Mintex still ok or have they been caught up by the rest in terms of value for money?

Hi, we've had great results with the ATE power disc and ATE ceramic pad combination:

It cost us £190 so it looks like the prices have gone up at that supplier so worth shopping around. Obviously double check that those are the right parts in case I've made a mistake with the links.

Regards,

Alex

Fitted Brembo pads and vented discs. Never had a problem with brake pad transfer, heat spots or vibration. Would recommend, coupled with full brake fluid renewal.

Would 312 mm brakes fit ? I remember I did a upgrade on my fabia vrs standard setup to Audi tt brakes calipers carriers mtek drilled and grooved with pads ,massively improved braking and also fills the rim up which looks good
