Deep Clean Air Conditioning

Good Afternoon all,

I fear my heater Matrix is overdue a deep clean. I’ve used the little AC sanitiser cans in the past which has helped keep some of the germs and odours under control but I really need something that get in deep.

Could anyone recommend a suitable product please.

I can't recommend anything as I've never done mine. Perhaps I should have done in the last 20 years. I always have the AC on Auto and never suspected anything. Had it regassed once and it can run ice cold in a hot summer. I cannot recall this topic coming up before.

Can you confirm you regularly change the pollen filter. I change mine every year with a carbon one. About £12 from memory.

Audi a2 heater matrix

Hi all. Just noticed from start up when engine cold i have 'that smell' coming through my heater vents. I think maybe my heater matrix is leaking. Are all A2 heater matrix the same? My car is an 03 plate and has climate. Thanks Steve

freezer ice smell when using heating

recently in the past 2 weeks whenever i put the climate control on to warm/demist the cabin a strong smell i can only describe as the smell you get from the ice in the back of a freezer comes through the vents,it does it in normal or "econ" mode,has anyone else had this problem ???

Hi Alan,

Indeed, the carbon pollen filter is replaced every 12-18 months.
