I want Martyn from VAG to get me the bracket that holds the space saver spare in place. (My car did not have the wheel ordered, but I insisted on one as it was a no cost option and they got me one, but no bracket as a result) He sent me the parts drawing and between the two of us we can't figure out which parts to order!!!

Can someone please take some clear digital pictures of all the bits please? The bracket below the floor, the bit above that fits into the wheel and maybe just check how many bits it consists of in total.

Will be much appreciated.

Email them to me ([email protected]) or to Stuart to post somewhere on the main site and then he can link it back here.

Thanks

It all looks so simple in the car, but the diagram with part nos doesn't. I hope my explanation is of help. Let's face it, it's only a bolt holding the wheel down to stop it sliding around.

On ours it is the bracket that holds the battery down, looks like a replacement to the standard one. It has a threaded boss that lines up with a hole in the boot floor. Next component is a plastic tray which sits on the carpeted floor to protect it from the tyre, finally you have a bolt which goes through all three - will try to remember to photograph tonight.

We did a deal with Peter Guilder, we wanted the spare so they swopped all the components from another car which had one.

Why are NEARLY all the A2s in Lichfield are silver ? ? ?

Better than a picture is a part number - 8Z0 801 645 B for the bracket. You could make the hole in the floor yourself, forgot to get the number for the plastic spacer.

Will e-mail picture.
