I noticed recently that one of my rear doors wasn't locking. I took it to a garage and they replaced the lock but couldn't get it working. They mentioned that the lock they ordered had more pins on the connector and thought either it was the wrong lock or they might need to "program it differently". I've taken it in to them again and today and they are still having problems with, mentioning that it might need a new control unit. I have an 2001 TDI SE. I was thinking it might be something to do with the fact that car doesn't have the newer CAN-BUS unit. Has anyone got any suggestions as I'd like to get this fixed asap?
