"Door Open" Warning

Although the passenger door is well shut, the red display shows it open.
Is there a micro switch that may be faulty?

You mean, that one can get to it without taking the whole lock out?
Or could some switch pin be worn and repositioned?
When the door is shut more forcefully, sometimes the door warning does not come on...

Hi,

You will find lots of information on here if you care to search, it's a common problem.

My understanding is the problem normally turns out not to be the microswitch but a faulty solder joint on the the circuit board to which it is connected.

A bit of reading to get you started.....

Nope it is the door open micro switch not the lock unlock micro switches at fault.
Just because it its external to the lock that does not make it more accessable. It is on the vertical rear face of the lock against the door. If you look at your door when open and see the door lock catch then the micro switch is just below that. What you could try before dismantling the door to get at the mechanism is to clean out all the accumulated grease and debris by spraying cleaning fluid around the door lock pawl and especially below it, may clean out the rubbish enough to let the switch work on the cam again. Most likely though you will have to remove the lock from the door to gain full access to the micro switch. In the picture below the micro switch can not be seen but it is on the end of the blue and red wires

The rectangular gap at the top of the picture is where the lock pawl is and the top of the picture faces the rear of the door, so rotate by 90 to get a better idea.
