I have mislaid my handbook so not sure what this switch does, the one with a car symbol. At the moment it appears to be stuck in, anything to do with the alarm?

Thanks just found my book. It appears to be stuck in unable to press it so is it faulty?
the spring has probably been lost when the cover came off. You can release this switch outer from the door frame trim with a reasonably blunt object in one move to pass the retaining clip past the over-centre position that keeps it in place, there is a connector directly inboard of that to release the switch and replace, unless as on one of my cars where someone had superglued the switch into the connector. Genius.
