I know it`s not for the A 2 but does anyone know if Electro Mechanical Rear Brake Caliper Rewind Tools / Software is available please ?
 
There MAY be stand alone plug in tools but VCDS is a windows based software you run on a laptop with USB port and buy the cable / dongle from Ross Tech. The full version comes in three forms. The first is for up to 3 VINs, the second 10 VINs and the third unlimited VINs. Each time you use the program the software determins if it constitutes a life from the VIN count and will work on the same car again without using another life. Once the lifes are used the cable will still work on other cars but is far more limited. Extra lifes can be bought as an upgrade.
 
Some of vag handheld scan tools have options to adapt car components like electronic parking brake, egr valve etc
 
Suppose maybe a better question is does anyone have access to / use of VCDS Full Fat Version and the expertise to use it please ?

You have to way up the costs involved. Get a garage to put the parking brake into service mode and perhaps do the rest of the work, or buy a tool to enable you to do it yourself.

From the VCDS video I posted that fully explains how to do it depending on the cars protocol.

I have only needed to use that function twice and in both cases it was to change the rear pads and there was almost zero wear on the discs! But I have full fat as I need it for the more recent cars as Lite only good for up to about 2006 cars.
 
I use icarsoft on my Porsche, it does most VW group vehicles and is cheap on Amazon. What car are you working on?
