Engine Management Light on and Judder under accelleration.

My wifes 1.4 petrol A2 has had a slight judder under accelleration for a while but it's been intermittent.

I took it to put some fuel in this afternoon and the judder under accelleration in 3rd is terrible with a real lack of grunt despite having my foot to the floor. I then noticed the engine management light is on.

I mention this to the wife who then tells me she has seen it before!!!!!! :eek::eek: but that it went off the next day.

Any ideas? Am I looking at a big bill? It's done 75K and got a full service history and was last serviced in September last yr.

it sounds like a coil pack or the coil unit is failing-depends weather you have individual ones or a single unit with plug leads.a scan will hopefully shed some light either way shouldnt be costly. cheers mike
 
Thanks for the re-assurance - is it a main stealer only job as I tend to use a local trusted (non audi) garage for all my servicing?

New coil pack installed today along with a HT lead the garage had lying around (FOC).

All running sweet as a nut!
