Engine Management Light

Hi there my 1.6 FSI SE on a 92 A2 has just flashed up the engine management light. The WIFE informs me she had used normal unleaded fuel not super! Car running ok could this be the reason?? Was going to disconnect the battery and see what happens. Advice please
 
As far as I know it's still ok to run the FSI on 95RON, can't imagine it's done any damage.... best get a scan instead of trying to clear it, there might be a bigger problem that you want to catch early
 
Thanks shredded does anyone have an A2 contact for someone who can scan the car. I live in S****horpe, North Lincolnshire.
 
Might be a member near you who can help you?

If not I think garages with diagnostic equipment will scan it for you... I went to an auto electrician (sort of place that sells car stereos and handsfree kits) and they did a full scan for me (charged me 30 quid for the pleasure as well :mad:)
