Hi

I have my A2 1.4 Petrol for about 1.5 years now (Car is just over 3 years old). Since I bought the car the Engine Management System light comes on every now and again. I brought the car back to the Audi dealer and they carried out the following (over a number of visits) to resolve the problem:

- Reset Engine Management switch.
- Checked wiring.
- Changed engine speed control switch.
- Downloaded a new version of software to the car.

After each visit the problem is gone but after a while sure enough the light reappears on the dash. After a while (Days) it goes away again.

Antoher thing I've noticed with the car recently is that it has problems starting but only when it has stopped for a short while (an hour or so). It always starts in the morning straight away and after work in the evening.

- Has anybody else had similar problems?
- If so how did you resolve the problem?
- Can you suggest a course of action to resolve the problems?

Thank you in advance
Chris.

Your handbook states that if that light starts flashing you should take it your dealer immediately... on diesel cars the glow-plug light (in same position) flashes...

Mine flashed evertime the relay between brake pedal and rear brake lights went - thus rendering be without any braklights!!!

The car's computer did however tell the technician exactly where the problem was each time when the computer was plugged in... weird then that yours did not give any message...
