Engine managerment light on Alarm Ultrasonic Disable Button

I have had my engine management light on for over a year, I have it tested and couldn't find the problem. Today I found that my Alarm Ultrasonic Disable Button is broken and doesn't work. If this is faulty would it show the engine management light?

Extremely unlikely.

Is there anyone local to Shane that could do a VCDS scan for him, to see what the problem is?
