VW do a clean & lube kit for the Eos roof.
It consists of two different cleaning wipes and a lube wipe.
There's sufficient to do all the seals on an Eos so should be plenty for an A2.
The part number is 000 096 331 and it's under £6 including vat.
I'm getting mine tomorrow, will let you know how well it cleans
