Erratic Speedo

My A2 seems to have a few gremlins . Firstly the Speedo is very erratic whilst in motion , before turning the engine on the ignition lights would flicker and to top it of whilst stationary and engine is turned on as soon as I put it into gear the engine just cuts out . Hoping it's nothing to serious .

Paul,

Best advice is to get the car properly diagnosed. Hopefully it will have logged a fault code or two which will help you target the right area.

A quick online search champions wiring or a speed sensor fault for the speedo fluctuation. Not being mechanically minded, but if it is a sensor fault, I wonder if this is related to the other troubles - especially if the sensor relates to the crankshaft.

Thanks Darren . Hopefully nothing to serious , I'm hoping the other symptoms will result in needing new alternator.
