Last week the ESP warning symbol started to flash on my 1.4TDi, which also resulted in a loss of power. After about 20 seconds all was well and I carried on my merry way. Anyway, today, the same fault happened. Anybody experienced this fault or have any idea of what it could be before I visit my local garage?

Took ULP's advice and booked car in for VAGCOM check. So anyway, arrived at local VW/Audi specialist this morning and checks done only to be told that car is showing no fault codes. I have now been advised to return to garage once fault is constant not intermitant. Arthur C Clarke are you out there???

I've experienced this too usually after hard lock combined with brisk acceleration

During the first shakedown run after I had the suspension replaced the ABS light came on a couple of times, along with a short interruption caused by the ESP. I did have a fault code pop up which pointed to the offside connector and after removing it, thoroughly cleaning it with a contact cleaner and ensuring it was located back firmly (with an audible click) solved the issue.
