Most standard policies will give you 30 days/year free insurance for zone 1 europe. Zone 2 europe is normally eastern europe and that will cost extra. Also it's worth checking that the cover is fully comp as some will just offer you the country's minumum requirement (3rd party) for free. If you need cover for longer it will cost you quite a bit more, as I've recently discovered. My normal insurance is about £300, for extended european travel with AXA I've been quoted £800......ouch!
