Its amazing how much difference keeping a car in a garage out of weather makes to a car's condition long term. I really wonder when I look at estates locally where there's a large garage full of household junk and a £50k car roasting in sunshine outside on the drive.

On Advice from the refurbisher I’m going with powder coated , he recons they are prone to corrosion

Having owned a "Special edition" ,some years ago, the first things I bought were a chrome gear gaitor surround and a chrome handbrake button. Easily obtainable at used prices and makes the interior look better Neil. Then you will want a DIS etc and then it starts.......

That’s a colour that absolutely wants to be garaged when not in use. I don’t think I’ve ever seen one in that colour with paint of that quality before

So you decided against keeping it original! Just my opinion but it looked much, much better with the wheels in the factory colour.

Wheels? Not so keen. If I had an A2 that colour, I would have powder coated the wheels to match! That would have been awesome....
