Hi all,
Both of my FSIs have been running great. No hesitation, no misfires, excellent consumption, happy days.
I drove one of them back from Heathrow on Sunday and no issues. Then today I jumped in to go to the shops and 3 min into the journey I felt some hesitation. That was swiftly followed by the EML flashing like a Christmas light and with that it started limping along. I pulled over and was sure I got a smell of rotten eggs briefly. I drove back home slowly and when every acceleration the EML would flash again. I plugged it into the VCDS and it says random/multiple misfire (and so not a specific cylinder).
Has anybody experienced this? I have dealt with and resolved FSI misfires before through changing sparks and coil packs and an injector. But I then had the EML on constantly (not flashing) until it was resolved and this has come on very suddenly and the result on how the car drives is quite dramatic which suggests something more significant than a coilpack or spark may have failed.
