Whether your car takes petrol or diesel, which supplier's fuel do you feel work best in your A2: Esso, Shell or BP?

Or do you think it doesn't make any difference?

Are you coming to the club social?

Never even thought about it. I always just chuck Tesco Unleaded in it as I get points and money saving vouchers through work. No doubt if I had an FSI I'd think differently...

I've always used Shell, previously petrol and now Diesel with the A2. I've never used unbranded, especially not petrol after reading some scare stories about cat damage, also don't like the smell of bad eggs that cheaper fuels produce. Used to use super unleaded in my wifes Alfa, but she didn't appreciate it :D so went to the cheaper stuff. If I ever put in a tank of another brand I always convinced myself that I could tell the difference, but that was possibly the placebo effect [:I]

I've always used Esso...

Used Shell once in previous car - got more miles from it but no get-up and go...

Shell Optimax-wonderful stuff, full bodied with a fruity headines to it.

It sure does run nicely in my motor-a few more MPG's and better pull.

Steve - 2002 1.4SE petrol, Silver, black/black interior, Then an identical replacement 2003 A2. Now a Toyota Corolla 1.6 T-Spirit

I've used Optimax exclusively since getting my FSI - except during an excursion through Warwickshire where I had to fill-up with BP. Never again, though, the desire to get out and push (from rest) was overwhelming [B)] 6p/litre extra... but you get double 'Pluspoints'...

For the TDi I only use Shell diesel, but Texaco is also recommended since both are claimed to have good additive/detergent packages, but remember also to use Millars diesel additive because these low sulphur diesels have lost some lubricity and are not kind to the pump.

There's really no choice for the discerning Fsi driver. It has</u>to be Shell Optimax all the time, hence I have a Shell station directory in the car [8D] Oh - and it helps if someone else is paying for the fuel as well! ;)

Take Care!
