Gear Change

This morning my A2 was changing gear in a smooth manner like it always has but then when I came back to driving her home this afternoon there was a definate increase in resistance between gears especially 3rd to 4th which used to be incredibly smooth. Just took her out for a long drive to see if it would fix itself but no joy. Any ideas why this increase in resistance would occur???
