Chat Gear stick to high, time for a mod

Just wondering if anybody has cut down the gear stick
I think it sits to high so was thinking of cutting it down a bit (anybody want a how to & pics while am doing it?)
I did it on my mk4 golf a few years ago & it felt like a short throw
Job for tomorrow me thinks

it's been done with a short throw kit, but I do believe it was kicked out again, not quite sure why. That was back in about 2004...
