Gearbox oil

Gonna change the gearbox oil on my polo bluemotion & bought this oil from VW three 1 ltr bottles as am sure it's 2.5 to refill (well it was when I changed the A2's oil)

Now I have half a ltr left over from changing the A2's oil & was wondering if I can mix the half ltr with the new 2 ltr bottles I just bought

I wouldn't have thought Audi use different oils to VW. Personally I would mix and not worry.

I think there is too much emphasise on different Brands of oils. Any clean fresh oil is better than old oil.

VW / Audi have several different gearbox oil specs so I'd personally not 'dilute' the qualities of the new Bluemotion oil for the sake of saving a few quid.

Yes we'll spotted, date is for 2020 so still good to use

Spike after looking at both oils there's a slight difference in colour so as you say for the sake of a few quid I'll stick with the new oil. Thanks for the replys guys

Well I would have thought that Audi will buy from any oil supplier that meets both price and specification which is why color may differ. As a result if it is both within date and specification I would use it.

Are the part numbers the same i.e. are they the same specification?

Turns out it was overflowing after 2 lts so didn't even need the other
Not sure of the max it's supposed to have though anyone fitted the bluemotion box & changed the oil recently & how much did you use?

I think it's 1.9 litres. I bought 2x 1 litre bottles of the VAG stuff to change mine when I fitted the JDD 'box, but when I took the end cap off to have a quick look inside before fitting it, it was all so clean that I didn't bother. It literally looked like new - I couldn't believe it.
