Why not try another one.....it could be a fault with the output stages.........or even the amp?To my ears this one in the 55 plate does not sound any where near as good

Im sure Timmus once said that the concert was the better sounding of the two
The Concert II is certainly my favourite of the original A2 head units, though I don't believe I'd have said that it sounded better than the Symphony II. I'd be surprised if their internals were different; I bet they use the same receiver, DAC, preamp, power amp, etc.To my ears this one in the 55 plate does not sound any where near as good

Electrically speaking, it's a direct swap, though the software settings of the Concert II CD player that you install may need to be changed. If the Concert II was once installed in an A2 with just front speakers, and is now being fitted in a car with Bose, a MFSW and a CD changer (for instance), the software settings will be wrong. Similarly, if the Concert II was once installed in an A6, its software settings may be wrong. Thanks for the info.
The new car on a 03 plate has a chorus tape head unit and a boot mounted cd changer. I have no cassettes nowdays so I was wondering if it is a direct plug and play for a concert cd head unit. I notice there is a yellow socket on the back of the concert which isnot on the chorus.
