Glow Plug/ pre heater light

Hi,
My TDi starts perfectly well, and the 'glow plug' light goes out properly, but then occasionally after 15 mins or so it flashes for a short while before going out again. Can anyone please tell me what this means?

This will sound bizarre, but it's most likely your brake light switch going on the blink.
 
The brake light switch is a £10 part, and you can fit it yourself (took me about 45 minutes, mostly because I struggled to remove the air ducting). There are guides to doing this on the forum.
