Noticed on Sally’s a2 today temp running normal 90 turned up heater would only blow warm air turn up the ac to 24 deg didn’t get warmer cycled it down to cold works fine ...ideas please just would not blow hot ..?
Yes I tried that But thank you..It could just be the temperature control flaps not operating correctly Paul. I take it you've already tried the rotational fix. ?
I will check that tomorrow thanks ? tis them flaps is it not ?..How hot do the feed and return pipes feel going to and from the cabin heater radiator?
if these feel good and hot then most likely the temp control flap not moving fully open or closed

Hi nod,we had this problem on one of our FSI's, the heater would only start throwing out heat when set close to hi around 27, any lower and not much heat came out. i seem to vaguely remember, i cleaned the tiny fan in the climate climate control unit (full, really full, of dust) i think that improved things..
Hi greywolfhound,Well I had another go at cycling the Aircon and now it’s on hot all the time it’s cooking in there and you can’t go lower temp Sally was driving earlier the window down at least it’s right time of year to be stuck on hot ..?
About 10 times up and down ..? when I’m up to it I’ll sort it I will take off glove box and have a look.. I’m in hospital twice next week Taunton and Bristol so bigger things to worry about ..last place I want to be at the moment ..hey ho .Hi greywolfhound,
How many times did you cycle the temperature control ?
As it can take a number of attempts for the valves/flaps to respond .

Thanks PlasticMac, has anyone got the procedure for changing the thermostat? If the thermostat was not opening at all, you'd have no heat. You should get a VCDS scan ASAP, as the FSI has an electronically controlled thermostat, and a scan will show what's going on. If the stat is not opening at all, the engine will overheat, and suffer serious damage. Better safe than sorry.
Mac.
