Hello from a potential owner!

Any body know the best place to get a spare set of alloys? Just the usual ebay trawling?

Yes,

That is where I get mine usually.
I posted a thread in the "spotted" section recently for a set that were at a reasonable price, they are probably gone now, but there are several others popping p daily.

They appear on gumtree as well from time to time, or on A2OC too! I currently have a set like yours (with usable tyres) in the marketplace section. Could potentially meet halfway in Milton Keynes if it'd suit, but likely to be in January. Best to PM.. :)

Thanks for the info.

My rear tyres are also Pirelli's with hairline cracks so I don't want any more like that really!

Pirellis seem to suffer from this. I had to replace perfectly legal ones on the rear of our car. Really fine cracking of the sidewalls. They were 5 years old, but still. This has also been the case for cars I've previously owned.

Pirelli's suffer because they're hard as nails and never wear out! I'd prefer a bit of wear in a trade off for some grip!

Toyo's on the other hand offer tons of grip but last 5 minutes... (But that did include 32 laps of the nurburgring so can forgive them..lol)

Gave little dumpy his first wash today

Well this weeks commute was a breeze and getting used to the ways of the little aluminium can. Did 300 odd miles and used a little over half the 42 litre tank so should be 60+mpg when I fill up next. You can tell it has a very aerodynamic body as there's very little wind noise at 60mph and the rain almost flies off the windscreen without the need for wipers. Sorry, the wiper.

Gave it a first wash today too. You only really know a car when you wash it I think and thankfully didn't unearth too many nasties. There's a scratch on the front N/S wing that's been filled with completely the wrong colour paint, a few little scratches here and there but all of which I should be able to correct when it gets a bit warmer.

Put some rain-x on the windows too but mainly the rear one as there's no rear wiper! Still find myself reaching for the non existent rear wipe on the stalk!

[this next bit was for those not in the know about all things A2 on my forum, but might as well leave it it for picture reference for others if need be]

Then had a play with the back seats and false boot floor. They fold up to behind the front seats giving a nice large square space, (with a support stay lol) but also come out completely to give a mini-van amount of space that is quite impressive given the outside dimension. The space frame manufacture helps out there considerably.

Seat out:
(In a mission to improve MPG, some owners simply remove the rear seats to save weight apparently. They're not that heavy though to be honest)

The 6CD stereo is pretty decent to be honest and on a par with the Bose I had in the MPS.

Changed the dip beam bulbs to some Nightbreaker unlimited - The manual states that changing headlight bulbs is a main dealer job and doesn't even list the types! Even easier than the Puma to change as it's just two screws and it's out.

heres a tip for you, use Ombrello on the windows... costs about £10 but is so easy to apply and lasts about 10 months!

Thanks for the tip - never heard of that.

Will be putting some >Gtechniq< on when the weather warms up for it to work / bond properly.

Started to give it a damn good clean yesterday - machine polished the roof and bonnet today before my back started to complain. Will try and do the rest tomorrow and post some pictures up into the bufty section (is there a bufty section? lol)

No Bufty section lol but why not start a thread in the members cars section.

Yeah, will do when I start to do things with it other than wash it..lol

Got a couple of sets of wheels lined up so will get a thread up when I swap them over.

The member's cars section is not meant to be just for projects, it is a chance for others to see your A2 whether it is standard, tired, perfect or modified. The idea is just to see what other members have.

It would be great to see lots more members posting pictures of their cars.

I think perhaps there should have been an explanatory post in the general section highlighting the purpose of the new forum section when it went live. As I suggested the thread in the first place do you think I should do so now?

Yes that would help.

We we want to see all cars if possible and if people want to show them.
Sone people seem to think it is just fir special or project cars.

ALL A2s are "special" and it is great to see the wide variety of A2s regardless of condition.

Come on everyone, let's see your A2 !!! Even if you think of it as "just your daily driver".
