Hello

Hello everyone just wanted to say Hi , my car is an 03 1.4 tdi SE with 93k and an extensive service history my only concern is that when i start the car on a cold morning it can sometimes flash up the coolant level warning light which according to the manual is either the coolant level or excessive temp. obviously as it only happens on cold starts it must mean the coolant level. I checked this obviously but it is fine does any one have an idea?

Hello and welcome to the forum.

My previous car had this issue where the coolant light came on at exactly the same point on the journey on a cold morning before the engine warmed up. It was resolved by only topping up the coolant level slightly.

I'm sure other members will be along in a minute with other ideas.

Regards

Hilary

I had the same happen to me. Light came on but went off once the car warmed slightly, presumably because the coolant expanded. I put in 100 ml of VW G13 coolant, and 100 ml of deionised water, and that sorted it.
