Hello A2OC members,
I just wondered if any of you technical wizards could help me out. My friend has a 2012 Skoda Fabia and for some unknown reason it’s developed a strange intermittent fault. Basically at random points it will simply not start. When the key is inserted into the ignition it can be turned to the point where the dashboard lights up. At this point the lights eventually go out with the exception of the engine management light and the EPC light. The key will then refuse to turn any further and a message flashes up on the display saying CHECK DEADLOCK.
The car can be left any amount of time, sometimes 2 minute, others an hour or two and then it will start up completely normal without any warning lights.
The car has been checked on diagnostics a couple of times but nothing flags up.
Any ideas or advice would be really appreciated.
Thanks, JT
