Can anyone recommend a garage that doesn't emmmm and arrrrrrr when they see an A2 come in??

I've got the dreaded limp issue when in 5th trying to do over 75mph.

I really need someone who keen to get to the cause of the problem, I've tried most things suggested on here.

Thanks

P.S All Audi have said replace the turbo and a cost of around £500

I'd probably suggest a trip to Milton Keynes for A2 Cars to investigate your issue.

Not the closest Indy I'm sure, but you'll get an honest diagnosis from a specialist.

Cheers

this seems to be a common problem at the moment as im suffering from this too :(

please let us know what the problem is when you find out as my car wont be going in for a few weeks or so!

its annoying when your on the motorway and it happens lol the only way to fix it short term is to pullover and turn off and restart engine.

Just thought I'd echo what I've just posted in another post today:

I had a similar problem this year. Just had it serviced, and on my way back down the motorway the car struggled with hills. Every time I went near 80mph the power would drop and the turbo wouldn't want to engage. It then didn't have it's usual power, until I put in neutral and restarted the engine.

Took it straight back, and the mechanics noticed the pipes to the turbo had slipped down. Once re-seated correctly car was back to normal. Took them 10 mins.

I agree wuth dan b check intercooler for leaks, had the same happen to me on the motorway lack of power, turned out to be a leak on the intercooler.

Cheers for the advice lads, I'll try and have a good look at the intercooler later today.

Do you advised taking off the front bumper to get a proper look? or should i be able to have a decent look with it staying on?

The guy I use for services etc, was able to see the leak / tear in the intercooler with just the bonnet removed, to replace it the front bumper was removed.

You can see the intercooler with the bonnet off - it's the smaller of the two radiators on the left hand side you can see as you look down. You're looking for any signs of black discolouration and/or evidence of oil vapour around the bottom of the intercooler itself. A healthy intercooler will still be the dull silver metal colour all the way to the bottom.

It's literally a 60second visual check job.

Cool, will have a look in a minuite then.

If all is well, then I take it looking at the turbo pipes would be the next thing on the list. I did have a previous look but i think i probably need to take a bit more time.

Another thing I noticed is, my actuator making a clicking noise while the ignition is on, but the car not running??? Is this normal?? I dont remember it doing this when i fist got the car??
