Gary i appreciate the info but it means nothing to me :D
Am a mechanic not an electrician :p
I bought the adapter hoping to just plug & play

You need the right adaptor cable set for an Audi radio. The front speakers are driven from the HU and the rears through an amp. Unless of course you have BOSE and then all the speakers are driven through an amp. I can clearly see a pair of canbus wires in the loom (pins 7 & 12) of the 20 pin connector, so you are missing some signals.

So you have 3 issues here.

1. No switched live in the loom
2. No illumination feed in the loom
3. Require an adaptor to get the rears driven from the pre out of the radio is it has them or impedance matched to the rear speaker outputs

Already done it :) Not a fan of the worn out buttons look though :(

Yiu can keep an eye out for a non-working unit even one without a code and swap the entire fascia over.

Don't buy the stickers, to me they look worse than the worn buttons.
