As I said in a thread the other day I expect the new MOT regs, eml on = Fail, will wipe out lots of FSI's. I am guessing there are lots with the notorious inlet manifold flap issue that have been driven for years with the eml on (Teresa?), after all they drive okay just a bit less performance, I know I did for three years. Now it matters and with the substantial cost of professional repairs, to say nothing of other MOT essentials tyres/pads|discs/suspension elements and maybe service costs, many 'just a car' owners will write them off.

I'm not owning A2 yet but planning to have one /very/ soon. On that note I have been contemplating how much would fit into my drive and 6 could be the number. Harder is to convince OH to have six A2's :D

... need to try harder to come up with how many Corrado Karmann Campaigns are currently registered ... I'm pretty sure there is 1 (maybe 2 at a push if you count Southern Ireland) currently road registered, with another three being "rebuilt"* That's it...

*At least two of them have been off the road for >10 years.

The bug is biting more and more these days ...

But that is just another model of a Corrado
5 is the total of all V8's That's it
And 1,456 Corrado's??

... when I called there last year, there were quite a few Corrados at Stealth Racing.
In April 1987, touring the coastal roads in south east Spain, in my rear view mirror I saw a rapid red sports coupe “thing” which would later be launched as the VW Corrado

Sorry about the swerve, but the chances are that you might just need to replace the valves, which is far more economical than replacing the engine.

Get the head off, have a look and if the pistons are damaged then you have lost nothing, if they are fine (they often are) you could have the bent valves replaced (ideally a full set) .

Already checked, head was b****red. All valves bent, hydraulic tappets took a hammering and are seized in their pockets, cam has small dents. The pistons look completely fine and all return to the same offset (and correct) from the deck with the dial indicator.

I've brought a new head and need to swap it on and put it back together, but been too busy with work and our allotment
