Hiya,
I have a A2 2002 1.4 SE with 115,000 on the clock. Recently went for a diagnostic scan and have currently changed the Manifold pressure sensor, coolant temperture sensor, and brake switch. Mechanic was sh*t sure that the manifold pressure sensor would fix the issue and it hasnt, he is now suggesting the timing is out which is a 3 hours labour job according to him. Now before I agree to this I wanted to ask you guys what you thought? As Im worried it isnt that and then it will be followed on by more diagnostics...
On tick over it has the *hunting* issue I have seen posted about on this forum already, we did the taping of the pipe etc prior to having the MPS changed. When I have the air con on the *hunting* settles and also upon start up from cold idles perfectly. Also I'd say the car is sluggish.
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
