Im new to the A2 OC.. Just bought a fabulous Bright red 1.4 SE!!!

Hi everybody.
Just want to say hello. After many years of thinking about A2's as being such an advanced little car for its year., my partner needed something for work, so could not miss the opportunity! And Im thrilled to bits with it, and hardly letting her drive it!
Its on an 02 plate and has 54K miles on the clock, and seems fairly all together.
Couple of problems I seem to have initially found, is that the plastic under engine panel that fits just behind the bumper is missing, and so is the cap for the washer fluid bottle/refill.
Would like to replace these but don't know where to start, or who specialises in spares or reusable parts.
A local garage quoted me loads of money for the panel, but it was from Audi.
I am based in Chelmsford so something local or some one who does mail order would be great!

Any clues as to where to start looking would be much appreciated.

This seems a great forum, lots of enthusiastic owners!!!!

Red Tomatoe :)

Welcome from another Chelmsford member!
The screenwash filler does not have a cap. Just a mesh insert.

As for spares, eBay

Welcome to the club.

I have lots of spares and send by courier but unfortunately no undertray.

Hi fellow Chelmsford owner (I'm in Maldon but from Chelmsford) the under tray is actually not to bad a price from Audi -if I remember correctly it's about £85 but someone may have a second hand one going spare. If you need any help or advice I'm always willing to pop over - can I tempt you into joining us at a social day? The next is early August at billing aquadrome. Audis in the park it's a great day out and a great chance to see other a2's and other audis. Cheers Mike

Welcome!

I also thought my washer cap was missing! Looks like it just doesn't have one then. That'll be why I can't find a spare! ;)

Welcome Red Tomatoe
I'm about 15 miles from you on the Herts/Essex border...
Can't help you with your spares but can recommend a very good Audi Tech in your vicinity if ever you have a problem with the car.
Would be good to see you at a social and ood for you to see other A2's and meet likeminded owners

Welcome, I'm also from Maldon (Mike's wife) and can be often found in and around the Chelmsford area, so will keep a look out for you. As Mike said would be good to see you at a social sometime.
Yvonne

Hi Red Tomatoe,
Great to see another new owner of such a great car, Essex seems to be brimming with A2's lately, and great to see!
As others have said, come along to a social event, you'd be more than welcome, everyone is really friendly and a great way to find out more about your car!
I'll also keep my eyes peeled for you as often passing through Chelmsford!
Cheers Jeff

Welcome

The bright red is nice, we were drolling over one in Dartford last week that had black wheelarch trim etc, looked so neat.

Hi and welcome .. hope you enjoy yourself on here .. any questions im sure you will find the answer on here .. plenty of helpful members ..

I also just had to buy a new undertray, for £94.90 from Stoke Audi. Unfortunately they will not post it due to its dimensions, even though it is really very light. Hence, if you want it you'll have to drive to Stoke to get it, which I did recently (from Exeter, what fun!) - Local garage does not seem to recognise the existence of A2s. I'm not aware of any breakers that had one, nor were there any on Ebay. Make sure you get the petrol one, as the tray for the TDIs is not the same (but both FSI and 1.4 are the same). Ensure that, when it is ordered, it comes with the fixings (it should, but there was a mistake with mine so they had to be posted separately). The part number is 8Z0 825 235 E.
Only good side of the trip was proof of the FSI's fuel economy. There was some pretty rotten traffic which probably added 2.5 hours to the journey, and it still did 51 mpg!
