If you get a thin screwdriver into the slot opposite the square positioning tab and angle it forwards slightly, with a bit of upwards pressure the plastic tabs in the sidelight ‘tube’ will release their hold and it should pop out without any damage. I just practiced with three of my old spare lights and they all popped out fine. I’m guessing they could even be modified to be able to replace them by 180 degrees so as to hide any burned areas.
