Hi
I have a 51 plate 1.4tdi, its a great car however it has a couple of faults since I purchased it which i am trying now to sort out. I am reaching out for any guidance on how to get them fixed.
The interior lights front and rear work OK on the manual switch but when switched to the door contact position the interior lights remain on all the time, with no change when the doors are opened or closed and also remain on when the ignition is live and car started. Bit of a pain as I have to keep the interior lights switched off.
I have been reading through numerous posts on the forum and have carried out the basic checks to try to get to the bottom of it.
When each door is opened one at a time the door open symbol on the instrument display lights up and goes out when the door is closed.
When the drivers door is opened the fuel flap and alarm button illuminates and can be operated with no issues ( I have also tried the fuel flap button etc with the drivers door closed which it isolates correctly). This indicates if i'm right that the door micro switches are operating as they should.
What else could be causing the problem with the interior lights staying on ?
I have also have a battery drain issue, after about 4 days the battery is flat, I will check the current draw with a meter however the battery shouldn't go flat in this time.
I have also noticed when I turn the ignition on the door locks cycle once, is there a problem with a lock micro switch which is preventing the sleep mode ?
Or do I have a problem with the CCU - how to get that repaired.
Any advice is very welcome
