Is remapping the way forward for my 1.4TDI?

I have recently purchased my A2, what a great car the A2 is!
Should I consider remapping my 1.4TDI? What extra performance will I get, how will it affect my fuel consumption and is there any long term damage to the engine? Any thoughts on the subject?

There is quite a lot of info on the forum about this. in short a TDi 75 should get to around 100-105 horses, with little effect on economy. re-mapping diesels is so well developed particularly by german and austrian companies problems are very rare. I have had about 8 diesels re-mapped in the last 10 years and have no hesitation in recommending it.
