clutch parts
its an easy fix just time , good luck i put a small bit of copper grease on the sleeve once fitted . not sure if thats standard practice .
will do next time , been fine for 14k lol my ewq box had it on the bearing tube when i upgraded to the jdd .Use moS2 grease, apply some and remove most of it with a rag so you basically wouldn't know it was there.
moS2 is just bog standard molybdenum disulphide grease.
Molly grease..
that is great news , was fingers crossed the box did not need pulling off againdone it kraig22, we screwed the bolt in holding the selector bracket on top of the gearbox to far in and it caught on the arm, undid it slightly and it pinged back, clutch is now perfect, here is the pic with the slave off, thanks for your help mate
yes mate, you were right, undid it and it pinged back in to place, great workRemove the bolt that secures the gear cable bracket directly in line with clutch slave have heard of a few instances where what must be the wrong bolt has been fitted causing the clutch to basically be constantly engaged because the arm has gone past it and can't return
Copper grease has no place anywhere near a clutch and is not a lubricant. It will dry out and clump up making moving parts bind up.
Good call. I did the same thing a while back while doing a MYP conversion. I posted a warning about it on this forum to help others. I ended up removing the gearbox again to find the problem. I hope you have a nice warm feeling having saved Mr Mandrake a whole load of hassle!Remove the bolt that secures the gear cable bracket directly in line with clutch slave have heard of a few instances where what must be the wrong bolt has been fitted causing the clutch to basically be constantly engaged because the arm has gone past it and can't return

Yes indeed thank you! It's what this forum is all about and once again shows its usually something silly causing big problems but how does this happen, bolts don't normally expand in my experience?Good call. what it is howey, the top hat washers i found on the gearbox were meant to go on the rubber bushed bracket holding the gearbox cables to the gearbox, we must have left them out by mistake at the end of the day and the bolt got screwed slightly to tight as the top hats were missing taking up that extra thread and a half or so that stuck into the gearbox enough to jam the arm, just one of those paradoxes i guess. ha haaaYes indeed thank you! It's not a huge tolerance then, easily done in fairness and would make a great immobiliser lolwhat it is howey, the top hat washers i found on the gearbox were meant to go on the rubber bushed bracket holding the gearbox cables to the gearbox, we must have left them out by mistake at the end of the day and the bolt got screwed slightly to tight as the top hats were missing taking up that extra thread and a half or so that stuck into the gearbox enough to jam the arm, just one of those paradoxes i guess. ha haaa
look howey here it is sticking in, leaving out the two thin top hats gives it that couple of mil to jam the arm. It's not a huge tolerance then, easily done in fairness and would make a great immobiliser lol
Unreal that it's just enough to allow the arm past but not back! Does the clutch pedal feel fine too with the arm jammed engaged?look howey here it is sticking in, leaving out the two thin top hats gives it that couple of mil to jam the arm.
yeah feels fine howeyUnreal that it's just enough to allow the arm past but not back! Does the clutch pedal feel fine too with the arm jammed engaged?
