Just got a changer ... help please!

Hi just bought a Sony CDX-T69 changer and Connects2 adapter off eBay. I know I can neatly get the changer in the glove box, but am wondering how to get the glove box detached for making a hole for the cables and hiding the wiring. Anyone help? Also, how do I get the Chorus2 head unit off?

Thanks Iain

Hi Swayndo
To remove the Chorus head unit you need two special removal keys. If you have the club Discount card you can get them at a special price from from Vagparts (see link). Dont be tempted with the Autoleads version sold by Halfords etc - they have the wrong profile and don't work properly.
The glovebox is a bit fiddly to take out (If you plan to do all your own spannerwork, buy the shop manual and parts catalogue CD's from Skipton01)
The door opening side trim needs to be removed first to gain access to a hidden fixing bolt on the glovebox. Peel off the seal round the door opening, remove the small section of trim at dashboard height and lift the carpet before 'attacking' the main side trim There is also another concealed bolt behind the coin holder. The glovebox light needs disconnecting before finally lifting out the glovebox.
Make sure you have the radio code to hand before disconnecting the Chorus.

YOu don't need them. You also can use two swiss army-knifes. Use the small blade with it's sharp side to the outside of the radio . Put the blade into the holes and try to keep the tip at the outer side. (you will not be able to, because ist yust fitts in quiet streight.)

If the blades are inside then put two fingers into the the casette slot with the fingertip on the upside and try to pull it out.

Thanks guys. Looks like my job is far from complete! I have a VW/Audi specialist garage where I get my cars serviced. I'll get his advice on it.
