KONI FSD'S or BILSTEIN B6'S

Here's mine with the Bilstein B6 setup and Spidan 49515 springs, I chose these as they are a lot stronger than Fsd's with what looks to be a bomb proof design. They do cost and weigh a bit more than other shocks, but I had to try them as a few friends who have them setup on some old skool 1989 BMW 325i's all have them fitted and swear by them. The 205/45/17'' tyres have made a big difference with comfort also and will be sticking with them for the forseable future, aslo done with a good wash & polish too.

I'm a very proud Dad today as my A2 took me from Birmingham to Norwich very comfortably on my Bilstein B6 setup and leather seat mods to watch my Son play his first premiership game for Norwich City after his move from Birmingham City this summer. The journey took me around 2hrs with no back pain at all from the sports seats I had before, and I've just got back and looked out of the window to just admire at what great little cars these are.

I don't think he'd want to jump out of his A3 Sline to drive an A2, I did encourage him to go Audi and diesel! Two out of three isn't bad!

In my exprience, the difference is massive. I changed from 205/40 to 205/45 and would now not consider any other tyre size on 17" wheels. The extra 10.5mm of tyre wall really adds some bounce.

Cheers,

Tom

Hi Tom, I'm considering fitting 205/45 tyres and wondered if you can post some more (close-up) shots of these tyres on your car. Thanks

My car in the picture post 121 is running Michelin 205/45/17's and they do a very good job, it's just buying them that makes your eyes water LOOOOOOO!

These wheels are currently not on my car, I'm afraid. What precisely is it that you're wanting to see?

Cheers,

Tom

OK apologies, I thought you had them fitting. Just wanted a close-up view of how they look on the car (e.g amount of clearance, possibility of rubbing, etc etc). Regardless, Sojah's photo in post 121 is very helpful.

As long as your steering rack is centred, there's no issue with rubbing.

Cheers,

Tom
