Lateral Acceleration Sensor (G200) Replacement

Hi Folks,

Just had the above sensor changed on my 2001 1.4TDi
I've been getting faults for quite a while and the fault codes were pointing to this sensor being the problem.
Now that the new one is in the fault codes are all clear but the warning lights are staying on and I get the audible warning as soon as I start moving.
The mechanic I use has been speaking to an Audi technician who said it either needs reset using a computer that my mechanic doesn't have, or the car needs to be started ten times before it'll reset itself, thought that one sounded a bit weird.

Anybody got any info on this?

Thanks!

A Zero position setting procedure is required after fitting the G200 sensor. Its done with the car on level ground and as your mechanic indicated, you need Vag Com (now known as VCDS)

Thanks for the info Spike.

I found a local garage with the VCDS and after they relieved me of £42 it's all sorted.
It's great to have a car with no fualts as it's been like that for quite a while.

Cheers!
