Hi and thanks guys, I have had a lot of interest in the LED's that I fitted on my car, thanks to all for your enquiries. I thought I would put up some pics of what they are, with more info to follow.
I have 'white' and 'red' ones, other colours are available, I know some people using 'ice blue' without any problems.
These are waterproof, 12v DC, draw very little power, so can be plugged in anywhere on the car.
Some of them come with double sided tape on the back so they can simply be peeled and stuck on anywhere.

Please register your interest/confirmation as I will place an order together.

By the way thanks for the PM's ;)

Regards
SARGE

How to remove Headlights Lens?

Hey Sarge

Do you have a picture of the clip on headlights?
I had a look at headlights today and there seems to be two clips
one on top and one at bottom, removed both clips but still
having problems taking the lens apart.

Cheers,

That'll be a glued shut headlight. The 'glued shut' lights I recently re-worked had one clip on top and one on the bottom. I spotted on some earlier (clipped) lights several clips all the way around the headlight.

As far as I can recall, there is about 6 clips on each light, these have to be removed very carefully, and lift them from the black housing side and not the lens side.

Can someone please give me a step by step guide?
I don't know where to start:p

What is it you need to know mate? To remove the lights you will need to remove 2 bolts holding them in, one on top, and other behind where the grill would be after the bonnet is removed. Then disconnect the wiring plug, and lift out the headlights. I advise to give them a good clean before opening them up as dirt will fly around when you open them, and can get inside. Remove the clips lifting them up from the casing side and not the lens side, this is so not to cause stress on the the flimsy bits of plastic on the lens side, as they can break.
You should have about 6 clips, after removing these the light just comes apart.
As for the glued type, I'm sorry I haven't seen these as yet, and you will need to improvise.

Hope it helps mate.

The process is the same for the glued type lights, except there are only two clips and the lights won't come apart without serious modification (i.e. you have to cut away a small section of the casing to cut the glue). It can be done but it takes a while...and it hurts your hands.

Thank's Lads I'll give it a go this weekend, One more thing Keith how much of the plastic casing would i need to remove? ("",cm,mm):D

Cheers,

A2sport

You have to remove about a cm all the way around the edge of the casing. It's clearly defined as it is the square lip that encapsulates the edge of the lens. Once you have trimmed this part off you can get a knife between the lens and the casing. I would suggest you heat the light up with a hot air gun/bath/oven first as the plastic is really tough/stiff. Once its nice and warm it'll be fairly easy to cut (use a new Stanley knife blade, and watch your fingers).

Good luck.:)

looks a great Idea,
How about the same with indicator orange and running off them in between so it looks like the newer models?

I HIGHLY ADVISE that you obtain a spare set of clusters before you start heating/cutting/prising your existing light clusters apart.

YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.
