Looking at 2 X A2's

I'm not sure i'm enjoying this thread.

With due respect to the OP, you've not even seen the car yet and the consideration to possibly break it for spares is being given thought.

As you are in the trade, unless the car has been accident damaged and has previously been written off, the last thoughts on these pages should be about breaking the car.

Sorry if this comes across as negative - just my thoughts on a misserable and wet Wednesday.

Hi

i was thinking along the same lines.

Basically as an owners club our aim is to preserve as many A2s as possible.
If an A2 has been badly damaged or beyond economical repair then that is another matter.
But a head gasket problem should not result in the loss of another A2.

We realise that there is not much we can do if someone is planning to break an A2 it is just that it is not what we would like to happen.

You might then rightly ask, "then why doesn't someone on here "rescue" this one?"
The answer is that we do. Many of us have spent hard earned cash rescuing A2s and very rarely do we recover our costs.
But we can't rescue them all. We can only hope that if a car can be saved then soneone will try.

To talk about scrapping one without even seeing if it can be rescued just triggers a small reaction.

So please don't take this the wrong way, you can do what you feel is right for you, we are just hoping that it can be saved.

It seems everyone is jumping on the bandwagon now Jeff and not always sympathetically. I think there are currently 5 cars being broken within the club. Whether its the age/sale value of the cars lately meaning that there are more potential cars available as breakers or the incentive of a making money its hard to know.
