Loss of power, no warnings? (1.4 petrol)

My little A2 is losing power and no warning indicators showing.

The girl was full serviced this Morning, However the power loss begun on the way to the Service, and gradually worsened on the way back.

I'm clueless as to what's at fault, a friend suggested it may be a coil pack.

Also would mixing Super Unleaded with Standard Unlead result in ANY issues OR specifically this issue?

Thanks in advance for any advice A2 Owners

I doubt it's anything too serious, but you do need to get a VCDS scan as your first port of call. Quite a few members here offer this service for free:

Your fuel will not be a factor in this, assuming you've stuck with petrol!

Thank You so much, very helpful.
That made me laugh Your comment on sticking with petrol, but I shouldn't laugh as I know it happens on occasion.

Thanks again for Your help

I should have said that if the garage who serviced your A2 is a VW / Audi specialist, they will have specific software (either VW's own or VCDS) that is able to do a full analysis for you in a matter of minutes. In that case I'd speak to them first.

Otherwise, our list is fine, so long as you use someone who either has the full commercial VCDS package or a registered copy of VCDS-Lite.

If I'm being honest, I don't think the drive back there will be healthy for the car at the moment. It was serviced by BMW in maidenhead, unsure if they would have software?

Thanks again.

I doubt they'd have the specific software you need. I'm guessing that 21 and 22 are the closest to you on the free scan list, so it may be worth approaching them.

I'd make a more general point, that it's good to get your A2 serviced at a VAG specialist, if for no other reason then because they have the appropriate software to get the full readout from your car.

Yes that's a valid point, I will do VAG service next time. it was serviced there this time by a family member.

By pure coincidence, a friend has just popped round who happened to have an OBD Computer onboard.

The read out showed up an issue with the manifold pressure, She cleared the error, after a small drive it does seem a little better, however I still need to try test it over 50 later on. Going to keep a good eye on it and see if the error returns.

Always best to do a scan and immediately clear any codes found. Then preferably after a drive cycle ( if safe ) perform another scan. That way issues that may have flagged up years ago and since been rectified are removed and only the fresh / current codes are present.
