Just had a mirror clash with a Merc Vito 112CDI van - despite me moving over (about) 40cm onto the muddy verge, the other guy didn't give me any room so impact must have been around 20 to 30mph - shattered merc mirror glass. Damage to A2 - puncture upper casing (the painted bit) with around 2cm hole. The mirror bent back as it should but surprised at the hole! Glass and electrics fine.

Anyone any idea how much a unit costs? Can the housing be bought seperately ? My excess is £200 and without other witnesses the best i can hope for is 50/50 in any claim.... arrggggghh!

If it's just a hole, can it be repaired, filled and re-painted? Might work out cheaper than a new mirror housing, which I believe can be extortionately priced.
