Misfire issue questions

Morning gang. I've still got the intermittent misfire on cyl 2 so done everything except change injector.... Is there a way to check performance of an injector before removal.... It could be carbon, but have put some Morris oil stuff through it an it's still giving code P302...
I've seen stuff about removing fuel pump fuse an running serious cleaner through fuel rail into injectors, but then risk is eats o rings???

It only flags up a code / engine light under heavy load and harder acceleration....???

Just wondering if it's an injector swop scenario......

Not trying to dodge a bullet but curious due to carbon fouling if I've done enough ....

PoO was a work colleague and she said ran it on normal unleaded more often than not and didn't do any motorway mileage etc.... It was school run / second car scenario.....

I’m not hot on the 1.6fsi, but a lot of small block 1.4/1.6 of this generation seem to suffer with a no.2 misfire, when did it start?

Previous owner who was a colleague. About 18 months ago.. I don't use the A2 at the minute but needs it's MOT doing.....
She had an auto electrician look at it an he diagnosed cyl 2 injector???

Mmm this a sounds like they were out of ideas. Injector wiring is very easy to diagnose really as it’s ignition live then switched to earth to close circuit. Personally I’d be looking at the head and start with a leak down test then go from there.

I believe the cylinder 2 misfire is a 1.4 thing.
Has it been run on 98/99 Super Unleaded?
Mac.

The 1.4 and the 1.6 mechanically and especially from a head design and very similar the cylinder 2 misfire issue is common to all 16v small blocks from this generation.

Whats the solution then. Is it the ECU upgrade or does it eat injectors??
TIA

The PO had an auto electrician look at it and they diagnosed a faulty injector? I am curious how an auto electrician could know that unless he took it out and knew it wasn't spraying properly etc, or badly contaminated / dirty etc....

Ah ok, you can measure resistance on the injector and that can highlight that there is an electrical fault with an injector, as they can fail mechanically or electrically.
