Hello,
You may have seen my other thread asking about whether having an A2 as a first car is a good idea or not, I'm pleased to say in the end I did get one . And here it is!
After the sale of the first one my parents looked at fell through (the dealers didn't do what we asked them to do, the car wasn't ready when they said it was and when we got home found out it had been clocked), they looked at this one. They thought that the first was in good condition, but this was WAY better. For a 13 year old car it is in really good condition.
It is a 2001 Audi A2 1.4 TDI SE in Crystal Blue that has had 3 previous owners. It came from a dealer, and comes with a 1 month warranty (from the dealer, not one of those 3rd party ones that seem to exclude everything ) It is a 4 seat version, has Full Service History, 2 keys, owners manual/other documents. Being 13 years old it is not perfect, one of the fog lights and one of the headlights get fogged up (I believe this is common?), the glovebox is awkward to shut, one of the speaker grills has a small bit of damage, air-con needs re gassing (I probably wouldn't use it anyway), there are 2 small scratches on the body and one of the wheels is slightly scuffed.
It has climate control, and a chorus radio/cassette (sounds brilliant!) I haven't worked out what options it has had yet.
The second owner had a sat nav professionally fitted (Navman ICN 510, quite old, but still works well), which is what the mount is above the dashboard. They also had a bluetooth hands-free system fitted (Nokia CK-1W), which also works well (especially now that we found the passcode ). They must have liked it a lot, as when they bought it they also paid over £200 for Auto glym products.
One of the rear seats was jammed, but that has now been fixed. The random plastic cover that was in the boot was for the pollen filter.
Things that need doing:
Deep clean
Glovebox doesn't shut properly (needs a lot of fiddling)
Compartment in front of the gear stick doesn't open properly (needs to be pulled)
Tim
