hi everyone

i've just bought a 2001 A2 1.4TDI WITH 81,000 Miles

i've had to change all the springs and shockers and boy the front ones are painful, and replaced the disc's and pads and adjusted the rears, plus get a control unit a new display and sort the cruise control with a replacement stalk.oh and drop links Phew

although the car is now kinda ok i think it needs engine mounts or at least one replacing, i'm not sure which one it is but id like to replace all of them if possible.

unless there's a common one on them ..?

id also like the part numbers if anyone has them at hand as audi want around £300+ for one offside front

as i plan on keeping it i want to get it bangon as its fantastic on fuel

any help with the mounts will be much appreciated, polly ones be good if they are available anywhere, ive seen polly kits but not for the mountings sadly

many thanks

This should help with suspension:

Engine mounts:

Note this has both engine types.
Loads of how to’s on here have a good browse of the forum sub categories, and welcome!

Phew - Looks like somebody is prepared to get stuck in :)

Probably best to upgrade your account so you can access the MarketPlace section, and put a wanted advert for which bits you need. It only costs £2, and is well worth doing.

What makes you think that the engine mounts have gone? The one most likely to cause I'll effect is also be cheapest which is great news.

The one nicknamed he dogbone mount joins the subframe to the sump and stops the engine rocking back and fore when braking and changing gear/accelerating decelerating. The one from a polo 9n fits perfectly and is only around £30 new.
